Ludhiana:  Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on Thursday introduced India’s highest Octane level fuel in Punjab for the high-end cars and bikes amid a very encouraging response from the owners of this segment of vehicles.

Chief Regional Manager, HPCL Shalabh Raj Gupta formally launched sale of Power99 fuel at the outlet Shivalik H.P. located on the Canal Road, South City, Ludhiana.

“This is the fuel which every owner of such high-end cars and bikes was looking for,” Gupta told this writer during the post-launch chat.

Priced at Rs 105 per litre, this fuel with Octane 99 level requires no additive.

Given this unique feature, the response was along the expected lines on day one.  One could see several  high-end vehicles lining up at the outlet. These included Mercedes Maybach, Ford Mustang, BMW M5, Mercedes Benz SLK and Mercedes S 500 to name a few. Among the bikes were Kawasaki Ninja 950, Harley Davidson and BMW’s R1250.

HPCL is the only oil company in the country selling this product.

On choice of Ludhiana and particularly Shivalik H.P. for its launch, Gupta said they decided so because location of this outlet is central to localities where owners of vehicles requiring such high-end fuel mostly live. These localities mainly include South City, Country Homes, Sun View, Janpath, Sukhmani Enclave, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Nagar and BRS Nagar etc.

“We have received very encouraging sale response on the very first day and hope the sale volume to increase considerably in coming days as people get to know about its availability at our outlet,” informed Harpreet Singh Shivalik, proprietor of the outlet.

HPCL had introduced Power99 in Chandigarh on January 26, 2020. “Encouraged by the response, we decided to come to Punjab and Ludhiana was the first choice given the presence of high-end segment vehicles here. Depending on the demand, our next destination could be Patiala,” added Gupta.
